2012 Samuel Ward Summer School was attended by 150+ very excited Year 5 pupils from our feeder schools in Haverhill, Clare, Wickhambrook, Hundon and Thurlow
Pupils enjoyed learning new skills such as filming, editing, animation, green-screening and pin-hole camera work. They also expressed their love of drama, dance and music when they performed to parents at their show on the Friday of the 1st and 2nd weeks of Summer School, the children worked really hard and were a credit to themselves.
Abigail said, “I think that everything we did was very exciting and enjoyable, especially London. The staff were extremely approachable and helpful”.
Jack said, “I made lots of new friends, it was brilliant and useful, I wish I could come next year”.
Jenny, “I used to have worries about talking to teachers, but not now I don’t”.
A day trip to Ridley’s ‘Believe it or not’ and the Science Museum in London was another highlight of the Summer School. The children were amazed at some of the things they saw – they could not believe their eyes – and found some of the interactive displays incredible.
