Samuel Ward Football Development programme is an exciting new venture developed with Haverhill Rovers Football Club. Places at the football centre are open to school leavers with a passion for football and self improvement. The course will combine an academic vocational qualification with 6 hours of coaching and training each week alongside matches on a Wednesday afternoon at the fantastic new Haverhill Rovers stadium. It aims to allow students the opportunity to undergo professional coaching from the club’s coaching staff, as well as enter into nationally recognised vocational qualifications. It will enable students to fulfil their academic potential and sporting ambitions. The course aims to provide students with a pathway from KS4 studies to a range of exit routes which are tailored to the interests of the students. Many gifted and enthusiastic post 16 students aspire to a future in sport, whether that is playing in a semi-professional or professional environment, or looking for a profession within the sport they love. This scheme is designed with those aspirations in mind. It gives the opportunity to achieve excellent vocational qualifications and incorporates a comprehensive training and playing regime.
