Dear Parents and Carers of children who live in Kedington,

We heard the very good news yesterday that a parent who has been appealing the county council’s decision to withdraw funded transport from Kedington to Samuel Ward Academy has won the appeal. The council accepted that the proposed walking route was, in places, not safe for an unaccompanied child.

Funded transport between Kedington and SWA will be available again as soon as they can organise it – we’re assured that it will be within four weeks at the latest. This is no doubt good news for those of you whose children already attend Samuel Ward Academy, and also for those of you whose children are expecting to join us in the future.

I am sure you will share my relief that the Education Transport Appeals Committee have taken this sensible decision. It will have a significant impact in keeping children safe. I would like to pass on my thanks to the parent who has worked so hard to pursue this appeal.

Best Wishes
