Dear Parent/Carer

When we return to school in September, it will inevitably mean making every effort not to share equipment within school, to minimise any spread of infection.

In order for students of all years to be able to learn effectively in Maths, it is vital that they bring the following to every lesson:

Pen, pencil, ruler, rubber, protractor, compass, and calculator.

We will be unable to lend calculators as we did in the past, and students will be at a significant disadvantage if they do not have one. When we get to GCSE two of the three Maths GCSE papers are calculator papers, and as a result, students will continually need to use them in lessons.

We strongly recommend you purchase the model shown below, which is recommended by the exam board. If everyone uses the same model, it allows us to teach every student how to make the most of the functions it provides, which is really advantageous to them in their exams and also in lessons, and could make a significant difference to their grade.

If you feel you are unable to meet the cost due to financial hardship, please let the school know as we have a fund which makes provision for this in some cases.

Many thanks for your support.

Yours sincerely

Mr Wilson
