TEACHER OF HISTORY
Start date: September 2017
Location: Haverhill, Suffolk
Contract type: Full time
We wish to appoint an outstanding, enthusiastic and ambitious History teacher to join our team of motivated and successful professionals. Samuel Ward Academy is an ‘outstanding’ school (Ofsted, 2012-13), and is looking for a confident and eager teacher to build upon our GCSE and A-Level success. There will be an opportunity to teach from KS3 through to KS5, in addition to developing and creating schemes of work. We welcome talented NQTs in application and if successful, he/she will be given ample opportunity to develop their professional skills. A successful NQT applicant will be fully supported in the role, including the provision of a mentor, training opportunities and student intervention support. The successful applicant will aim to help establish and maintain high standards of achievement in History while continuing the departments dynamic approach. In particular there will be opportunities to work with experienced staff to create schemes of work and resources in order to tackle the new 1-9 GCSE curriculum. Samuel Ward Academy is both innovative and forward thinking with teachers who are keen to research and develop their practice.
